The Japan Society of Hong Kong - Nihongokoza 50th Anniversary Special Presentation of Cultural Exchange Lectures

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Japan Society of Hong Kong, on the afternoon of October 6th (Saturday), a guest specially came to Hong Kong from Japan to hold a cultural exchange lecture. The event attracted nearly 140 people on the day, and the scene was very lively.


The speaker, Mr. Yoshikawa, is a counselor at Ise Jingu Shrine and a lecturer at the Imperial College. This speech is titled "The Heart of Japan - Shinto and Ise Shrine". Mr. Yoshikawa introduced what is Shinto, the relationship between God, man and nature, and the importance of Ise Shrine to the Japanese. According to Mr. Yoshikawa, about 8.5 million people visited the Ise Shrine every year. He teased that Tokyo Disneyland became the main competitor of Ise Jingu Shrine. Mr. Yoshikawa’s speech was humorous, and the participants listened with great interest.
