The Japan Society of Hong Kong Scholarship 2026 Applications are Now Open

Applications for the Japan Society of Hong Kong Scholarship 2026 are now open and will close on 6 February 2026. To commemorate its 30th Anniversary, the Japan Society of Hong Kong established the Scholarship Fund in 1993 to support Hong Kong residents in pursuing studies in Japan.The main purpose of offering such scholarship is to promote the studies of Japanese culture and the mutual understanding between the peoples of Hong Kong and Japan. The Society is honoured to receive generous donations from the Hong Kong - Japan Cultural and Educational Exchange Foundation Limited in support of the Scholarship Fund.

The Japan Society of Hong Kong Scholarship Result 2025

Five Hong Kong teenagers Mr. Lau Sin Leung Paul, Mr. Yu Louis Pak Hei, Mr. Dai Quan, Miss. Yuen Hey Weng Symphony and Mr. Chong Cheuk Lam are subsidized for studying in Japan, each with half a million Japanese Yen, by the “Scholarship of The Japan Society of Hong Kong”. This is the 33rd Scholarship and there were 147 scholarship recipients in total over the past 33 years. The Scholarship Presentation Ceremony was held on 12 March, 2025, Wednesday at The Japan Society of Hong Kong. Guests of the Ceremony included:

  • Deputy Consul-General of Japan in Hong Kong, Mr. Shigehiro Nishiumi
  • The Committee Chairman of The Hong Kong-Japan Cultural and Educational Exchange Foundation, Mr. Teruo Funahashi
  • The Secretary General of The Hongkong Japanese Club, Mr. Makoto Wakita
  • The Chairman of The Japan Society of Hong Kong, Mr. Dennis Yau
  • The Japanese-Language Advisor of Japan Foundation, Mr. Tomonari Tanabe
  • The President of Society of Japanese Language Education Hong Kong, Ms. Maggie Leung
